Mark Ballard

Mark Ballard

Media Director

The office's token sports junkie and music nerd, Mark also moonlights as Channel V Media’s Media Director. Mark maintains an encyclopedic rolodex (whatever that is) of contacts, and spends his days searching for the otherwise unseen approaches to connect client with media. While skilled at marrying traditional media content with social media platforms to extend and enhance the impact of client placements, Mark prides himself on a very unique and slightly retro talent: picking up the phone and making things happen.

Before succumbing to the seductive siren calls of CVM, Mark spent the better part of a decade shilling his media expertise at some of New York City’s finest agencies, where he worked for clients such as Paste magazine, PBS’ Nightly Business Report, and Yamaha, among many others. Mark is especially proud of his work for Make magazine, having steered the inspirational DIY publication from its early launch to its annual Maker Faire, an event which now attracts over 60,000 Bay Area attendees every spring.

Mark lives in Midtown Manhattan, but is secretly planning a move—and Channel V Media expansion—to Southern California. (Telling Kate and Gretel about this via company bio seemed like the right thing to do.)

James Bond
Mark’s aunt Fran was a stunt woman in the James Bond classic, “For Your Eyes Only”. Remember the scene when they drag Bond and his starlet through the shark-infested waters? That’s her!
Green Bay Packers
An obsessive (err, “devoted”) fan of the World Champion Green Bay Packers, Mark once traveled to Green Bay to cheer on the Packers in a negative 23-degree wind chill.
Cameo Appearances
Don’t ask how (he’s not even sure), but Mark has made cameo appearances on The Celebrity Apprentice, The Late Show with David Letterman, and The Colbert Report.
Luggage
Mark’s #1 favorite life activity is travel. So far, Japan, Ireland, Italy, and Prague are among his favorite destinations.
Rosie
The “Jazzy Jeff” to his “Fresh Prince”…the “Robin” to his “Batman”…the “Ben” to his “Jerry”…Mark rarely goes anywhere without his best friend and trusty canine companion, Rosie.
