What do you get when you take one of your case studies, remove all the self-congratulatory information about your company, and turn it into a how-to guide? You guessed it!
e-books and white papers not only convey your expertise and overall confidence in your work; they’re actually helpful to your audience.
So what’s the difference between the two? It’s really a matter of formatting and tone that separates the e-book from the white paper. E-books are generally presented horizontally with a heavy focus on the design elements. They’re also generally written with a more accessible, casual and even friendly voice. White papers, on the other hand, can be described as the e-book’s more scholarly and pedantic older brother. While both work to establish the writer as an expert, and both are informative with the potential to go viral, they speak to audiences differently. Your choice of medium should be shaped by the audience you are trying to reach and what version will likely be more fitting for them.
